The Unknown Face

Everyone wears a mask no matter who they are or what they say.  All people have secrets that they are not proud of or flaws that they only pull out in the depth of their own comfort.  Sometimes if we are lucky, people will pull off parts of their mask a little at a time to reveal what is hidden to the eye.  The thing about masks is the people that wear them are not only scared about what other people may see if they pull them off, but they are scared of what they will see themselves.  No one wants to see themselves as the truth.  They want to be the best and masks are able to show them that; although, deep down they know the truth.  Do not put a show on for these around you.  Do not pretend for people.  Try to be as open as you can to show yourself.  Hope that other people will do the same.  Right now, the people you think you can trust are the ones that hide the most from you.  They have the biggest masks and although you think you know them and their motives, I am here to tell you to beware.  If only you could hear their true thoughts at two in the morning when you aren't there standing beside them and they can only say what they really feel.  I hope one day you will realize the people who really care about you will call you out on your mask and love your flaws!  Those are the people you should fill your life with no matter how much they may tell the truth to you or what hurt they may sometimes cause.  Tears may stream down your face in their presence, but as each tear falls, the things you hide will be wiped away and you will be renewed.  Take this as a warning, for somewhere far along this road, they will drop you and leave you alone to be with your own mask.

Through Many Dangers, Toils, and Snares

A Winter Break is a time for individuals to truly live young, wild, and free.  Little responsibility is held over their heads and a needed relaxation enters their hands to be used as the beholder desires.  My relaxation included breaking out of the dungeons holding me in and releasing myself among the unfamiliar.  I bonded among new friends and familiarized myself with old ones.  Both sets have had a huge impact in my life in the past year.  Driving around in the dark of nights, adventures will always show themselves awaiting with signs of trouble, yet to face your fear and conquer these snares leaves a feeling of immortality.  Nothing can or ever will take you down.  If only this break could last and never end, but for every sun that rises, it must eventually set.  If it makes you happy, then it is worth your time to experience it no matter how much you will miss it when it is gone.  This was a weekend for firsts as I did so many things I have never done before nor expected to ever do.  Only tomorrow holds what is in store for my future, but I am glad I am living my present to the fullest for it only makes my past stronger. Goodbye My Break!  I will be ready for you again when Spring comes around.....

I must say never to judge a boy without giving him a chance (unless he is at a park looking at small children then you should probably judge...).  I did not give a boy a chance for five years and refused to even associate myself with him, but now I am grateful for having him in my life after the past year we have had as friends.  The boys I expected to be amazing this year ended up being the worst to me. I now understand not to allow "The Great Gatsby" effect enter my life through creating an ideal image of someone and ignoring their flaws.  I must look at the whole person and not just create the image I want through deleting their mistakes.  There are too many other amazing boys out there that deserve my attention over them.  The song I would use to describe my year with men would be Lily Allen's "Who'd Have Known".

The Lovely Ladies

I have made so many amazing friends this year!  I am so blessed to have a girl who stuck with me throughout the worst when no one else would dare look at me.  She was my best friend and still is one of my closest.  Thank you for giving me my summer and its happiness, Taran.  You are beautiful and I love you.  There is no one I have ever been able to count on more than you whether it was my eighteenth birthday and you were the only one with me or when I was about to have a mental breakdown due to stupid boys and the only solution was to make lots of cookies (LOTS OF COOKIES) in my cookie monster shirt and then stalkerishy deliver them.  Thank you for the many chats and the many times you comforted me from my struggles.

I have made some new friends as well as I have entered a new chapter of my life at Olympus High School!  I love my new friends to death as they make me want to be a better person and are always there to fill my heart with joy and laughter (The Comedian Kaycee White).  Whether in search for a good party (Mads Jensen) or just a night at a restaurant to get dessert (All the Girls), we have amazing times together.  I love the crazy drives with my other ladies (Christa Isaia, Kyla Vigil, and Nicollette Duncan)!  We are the party animals and sexiest women alive and everyone knows it!  Thank you for the memories!  They will honestly last a lifetime and I treasure all your friendships!  I love you. I have begun classes at Olympus High School this year and love it! I am learning tons and am happy while I am doing it!  I have finished all my college applications and have some scholarship offers, but as of now I have no idea where my education will take me.  This year will bring much growth and change as I learn more about myself and more about what I want to do with my life.  I have learned to love more things and developed stronger talents!  One of my favorite classes would be painting.  I love sitting down for hours and begin to paint my dreams.  The simplest song to describe this is the "Saved By the Bell" theme song.
